This project had been in the works for months before anything was physically produced. We knew we wanted to push the boundaries a bit, but keep Vampire Bait marketable to the right audience. It all started with a bunch of sketches for potential logos.

what to do?

Ideation process for the merch run

Make patches for a local goth DJ who is on her way to Denver for a special show. She also happens to be a good friend.

The next step was to decide what colors I wanted to use for the project. Originally I had planned on doing a more colorful design, but ended with 'ol reliable: blue, yellow, and pink.

There was conversation regarding what kind of merch we wanted to create for Vampire Bait. We wanted to keep the spirit of DIY involved, so we landed on recycling old fabric into hand-made patches.

The undies with the period stain was the winner. I began carving right away, I was so excited to finally get this project in my hands. It was actually the first time I had attempted carving linoleum. It went well.
